Going to the beach.

We took Alexander to the beach on Monday, it was a blast. He was all over the place, he chased the birds and ran in to the waves. He would not go near the water at first, then I took him in just enough to get his feet wet and he realized that it was safe . Then I had a hard time getting him out of the water. Oh and the water was so cold.
I love this picture...
Alexander has become a little dare devil. Jeremy and I looked over at Alexander and he was trying to stand on his rocket that he got for Christmas. I kept snapping the picture either too early or too late.
Alexander's first Mohawk!

He has never had enough hair to do anything. So last night after his bath I was able to get it in a Mohawk. How cool is that!

Fun around the house

How cute is this picture. It was taken in my dinning room at the window that looks at the front yard. Jeremy was backing out of the drive way, Alexander and the dogs went to see him off.
What a messy eater Alexander is...
No matter what I am feeding him he wants to do it himself. In the top 2 I gave him some strawberries with whip cream. Which he loved. In the bottom 2 I gave him a nutragrain bar. He loves the Gerber cereal bars but they are more expensive, so I thought I would try nutragrain bars. Well, they have ALOT more filling in them and he got it everywhere. Tasty!
The other day on the way out of Wal-Mart I gave Alexander my keys to play with. I started hearing a horn honking, when I arrived at my car I realized it was Alexander making my car horn honk with the lock button. Tonight he went through his diaper bag and found the keys and that was the first thing he did, go for the lock button.
There was a member only preview of the sting rays at the zoo this weekend. Alexander was so funny. He would point at the sting rays a say "Fis". Then he would put his hand in the water to play until the sting rays would swim by and out would come his hands.
I am so amazed everyday at how much Alexander is learning. He can do so much now. My favorite is his vocabulary, I love to hear him say or try to say words. He can say: Bird, Ball, Fish, More, No, Night night, Mom, Dad, Dixie, Libby, Pop, Bob, and Milk. He understands: Outside, Eat, Goldfish, Tongue, Nose, Eye, Belly Button, Go, and Shoes. He copies me all the time the other night I was getting on to the dogs and made an "ah-ah-ah-ah-ah" sound, Alexander looked up at me and made the same noise. It was so funny.

The family has grown again

Kristy and Zach welcomed Beckett Paul on Valentine's day. Jeremy and I were both very SURPRISED to find out it was a BOY!
We went to visit them in Gainsville on Saturday. We got to see them in the hospital and then help welcome them home. Alexander was not very interrested in Beckett, I was a little concerned he would be jealous when I held him but he wasn't. Instead he pushed around the chairs and the crib in the room.
It is cool to see how much Beckett and Alexander look alike. Alexander is on the right and Beckett is on the left. I should not be surprise Alexander is all Burgess!
Here is the BIG group of us now. Congratualtion Kristy and Zach we know you will be great parents to Beckett just like you are to Evie Kate. We love you!

Valentine's Day

"Metro Park"

My friend Becky told me about this really great park downtown Jacksonville and she was right. It is AMAZING. Not only was there a jeep, a bus, and a playground, but there was also this HUGE village. It had a "Yellow Brick Road" that led us through the entire park. Alexander loved it, his favorite was the jeep, all he wanted to do was steer it, I guess he is just ALL boy.
"Bird" It is so cute to hear him say words like bird. Alexander kept pointing at the bird that was by him while we ate lunch. He even shared some of his lunch with it.
Happy Valentine's Day
Jeremy and I had a great Valentine's Day, we took Alexander to Chili's (Jeremy got a gift card for his birthday). Then some friends of ours did a trade off with us. I watched their little girl on the 13th and they watched Alexander on the 14th so Jeremy and I could go and see a movie. We saw "Fool's Gold" and it was really good. What a great Valentine'day and what great friends we have!

13 months and growing

I got Alexander these foam bath letters and thought it would be cute to stick all the letters for his name on his back. He really did not even care that I was doing anything to him.
"Hey that is my high chair!"
Last week I watched my friend Sarah's little girl Ava and Alexander was not so sure about her using his high chair. He really loves having her over and she think he is the WILDEST thing she has ever seen. She gets excited everytime he comes near her.
We had to get Alexander a new ball pit, we returned the one Mia and Papi got him because it got a really bad hole. We found this one at walmart and he loves it. He can completly turn it over and make balls go everywhere! He was so funny when I was trying to blow it up, he could not wait. He kept sneeking around me and jumping on it.

Some of Alexander's Favorite Things...

Eating from a "Big Boy Plate", Goldfish (we have so many because they were buy one get one free at Publix), "The Boat" at the mall play area(he yells at any kid that tries to take the wheel from him), and Talking on the phone.
Alexander has learned some fun and some not so fun things lately...
~Turning off the TV, this one really make Jeremy mad.
~Says "Mom" it is so cute, he says it really fast.
~Says "Um" and looks around to see who is listening.
~Says "Pop"
~Climbs on EVERYTHING, the couch, the ottamen, up the slide and on his leap frog table.
~Opens the sliding glass door, he loves to be outside.
~Turns on the water in our master bath tub
~Opens his CD player and spins the CD
~Lifts up his feet for me to put on his shoes and socks, he knows it means we are going outside.
~Opens and digs though his toy box
~Can sign-"More", "Eat", and "All Done"
~Waves to anyone who will look his way.

I have also been trying to give him new foods that we had to wait to give him. He loves eggs but surpisingly he does not like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I think his favorite lunch is lunchable snacks. He gets excited and starts kicking his feet when I come towards his high chair with it.

Alexander is almost weined, he only takes a morning nursing now. I was not sure if I was going to cut out his bed time or his moring time nursing but I think it was easier for both of us to cut out the bed time. He does not take anything to go to bed, he just eats dinner at around 6:30 and then goes to bed a 8. I was really surpised he was totally fine just going to bed. He is growing up so fast.
