18 month check up in Jacksonville

Last week we went to Jacksonville for Alexander's 18 month check up. He only had one more check up before we move to Kansas in December and I wanted him to see the same doctor.

Buff and her mom Kat were SO sweet to let me and Alexander invade their beach house while they were on vacation. It was great, it became a mini vacation for me and Alexander.

In the beach house they had this old school desk, which doubled as Alexander's high chair. It worked perfect, he liked sitting it so there was not too much effort keeping him in it.

Coke for Kisses anyone???

Buff was the taker on this offer! Every time Buff would give Alexander a sip of coke he would give her a BIG kiss and just smile. He knew just what he was doing and Buff caved big time!

Buff's mom Kat taught Alexander how to blow his nose. He would pull out a tissue, blow and put it back in the box. He had us all rolling.

On the last day at the beach we went to Dick's wings. Alexander was not feeling well so I let him have his blanket at the table. To which he wrapped around his head.

I ordered him chicken finger and gave him some ranch dress (His favorite) to dip them in and he started dipping his toy in it and sucking it off. I guess all he really wanted was the ranch.

Alexander really enjoyed spending time with Buff and Kat, in fact before the week was out he was calling them both by name.

Alexander 18 month check up was great. He is 28 pounds and 6 ounces and 34 inches tall. I cannot believe how fast he has grown. He says all kinds of words now. The newest are Grandma and Grandpa, go and he does the sign for go. Mia taught him the sign for help which he uses ALL the time. I know there are many more word that I cannot think of.

Father's Day Weekend

We had a great Father's day weekend. We started by taking my dad to Red Lobster on Saturday for lunch. Yummy!

Then Saturday night we went to Shawn and Ashley wedding. It was beautiful and Alexander had a blast. Lexie and Brook blew bubbles for him and kept him entertained.

Father's day breakfast, I made waffles and Mia made bacon for Jeremy and Papi. Jeremy finally got his ipod!

We spent the rest of the day relaxing in the pool. Papi got Alexander a Popsicle, which he loved. He just sat in his float and at the whole thing. Saturday night Jeremy and I went to see The Hulk his part of his Father's Day. It was a great weekend honoring all the import fathers in our lives.

Breakfast with Elmo and Friends

On Monday we went to Sea World and had Breakfast with all of Alexander's friends!

Zoe came by to see us at our table.

Then Super Grover flew over for a visit.

Then we went on stage to meet Big Bird and Elmo. Alexander loved big bird. He kept saying "bir, bir" and doing to sign language for bird. I thought he would have been a little more afraid of him. Since he loved big bird so much Mia and Papi got him a big bird doll to which he will pick up and say bird. Or if you ask him were is big bird he will go get it for you.

More Disney Pictures

Here are just a few more Disney Pictures. What a great time we had! We took the ferry from the transportation center to magic kingdom and took the monorail back. Here is me and Alexander on the ferry to go see Mickey Mouse! Alexander said Mickey Mouse for the first time the night before we went. It caught us all off guard.

Jeremy and Alexander tried on some hats at the store on main street.

Me and Alexander in front of the castle.

Alexander and I have finally settled in at Grandma and Grandpa's. It is a little sad that we are no longer Jacksonville residents. I still have not got used to not calling Jacksonville home. I did take a big step today and changed the presets on the radio. I know you think that is stupid, but I actually had to think about the fact that I did not need the other stations anymore.

My brother closed on his first home on the same day as we closed on our house. So he moved out before I moved in which worked out really good for me. Alexander is all set up in his room, I am in my old room and the mutts have their own little closet. It has been a great home for me, Alexander and the dogs!

We really miss Jeremy during the week, he is still in Jacksonville finishing up his orders. He is blessed that one of the guys at the base had a room for him to rent for the month. It is nice that he can come down on the weekends. I know I am not going to get to see him very much once he is in Oklahoma. So I am soaking up all of him while I can, I am really going to miss him.

Alexander in his new float

Jeremy found this really cool float at Walmart. We put it on Alexander to get it in the pool. While he was waiting for us to go out Mia gave him a craker. This is a video of him tring to eat the cracker. It was too funny!

Much needed relaxation

After our hard work all week moving, we went to Mia and Papi's for some much needed relaxation!

We had a great time swimming in the pool. Alexander wanted to climb up the stairs and JUMP in.....we are going to have to keep a close watch on him around the pool. He loves it!

We also walked all the way around the lake in the backyard and saw the deer. That night for dinner we had some yummy calzone.....Is that not the BIGGEST calzone ever!

On Sunday we went to Sea World. We went to see the Elmo show and Alexander loved it. He watched it until the last 5 mins and then he was tired of sitting. After the show we got in the line for the meet and greet, not knowing how Alexander would react. When it was our turn to meet Elmo I put Alexander down and Elmo knelt down. Alexander ran up and gave him a hug. I could not believe it. How cute is the picture of Alexander hugging Elmo?!?!

We fed the sea lions (Jeremy favorite thing to do), saw the sharks, visited the penguins, and watched Shamu (My favorite). It was a great trip, Alexander is getting older now so he can really enjoy it.

Papi went to Columbia and brought Alexander back a truck. Alexander loved it, he loves anything with wheels!
