Elmo Live

We took Alexander to see Elmo Live.

He cried when they first came out, I think it scared him that the lights went out.

He did pretty good, he sat with Jeremy, then me, then wanted to sit in his own seat. Other than moving around alot he was great, I think he really enjoyed it.

Update

I wanted put up a quick update about our health here in Kansas. When I took Alexander to school on Wednesday there was a note posted on his door that RSV was going around. AHHH..can I catch a break, my anxious self called Jeremy right then for him to get Alexander a Doctors appt. We took him the next morning and PRAISE GOD he does not have it! It is just a virus, and he seems to be doing a little better today. As for me, no more fever just cold symptoms, just hope I am better by Wednesday for my Florida trip! Cannot Wait!

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. It means so much to know we have everyone cheering us on! Love you guys.

Health and Healing!

I am so thankful to God for all the amazing people in my life! I cannot name everyone but on Sunday my brother spoke a great message! He spoke about not being ashamed of what you are going through and knowing Who will bring you out! The message spoke to my heart, as many of you know we had a very difficult time getting pregnant with Alexander but God gave us the most precious blessing! Though that I know I can help and talk to people who also share that problem.

With a child and husband comes great responsibility! From June until December many of you know that I stayed with my parents while Jeremy was in Oklahoma. It was not really awful the distance because I had wonderful people all around me. But what was difficult was Jeremy not being their when things were tuff. Though this time I began to become VERY anxious, over anything and everything. Some nights I would lie in bed and just tremble and cry. The truth is I really did not want anyone to know what I was going through! I feel like the biggest reason for most of it was fear of losing Jeremy or Alexander.

While in Florida Alexander, who had NEVER been on antibiotics or had any real illness, had 2 ear infections, several cold and a BAD case of the stomach flu. It is funny that I know Jeremy cannot make Alexander better but God gave him to me because he makes me better! I also had several cases of the stomach flu, but I do not think that is what it was. I think I would get myself so worked up I would make myself sick. I guess looking back I did have allot going on, we had just sold out house, my husband was 1200 miles away, we were moving 1300 miles away and I had to do allot of it with out him.

I tell you all this to tell you on Thursday night Alexander woke up at 1:30 am, which I could count on one hand the number of times he has done that! He was SO fussy, I thought maybe he was getting in some teeth. So I gave him some Motrin and rocked him but he never really went back to sleep. So I brought him downstairs to watch TV and gave him a snack but he was just not feeling well. We took him to the Doctor and the he said it was an ear infection and gave him antibiotics. He has been on them since Friday and still is no better, he is sleeping through the night ...Praise God. He is still running a temp. We called our favorite ask a nurse(Kristy-for whom also provides me with strenght and courage) and she said to alternate Motrin and Tylenol. Praise God he slept through the whole night with only one or two times coughing. I am going to take him back in to the Doctor in the morning and will update when I know something.

But....I woke up at 2:30 am feeling VERY achy and chilled. I took some Motrin and tried to lay down I just shivered and ached. Finally about an hour ago my fever broke....Praise God. But I now know what was going on in Alexander the night he woke up.

Now the real reason for this post, I would like all of you to pray for us. For health and healing! For an easy adjustment to living in Kansas and me going back to work. We are all truly blessed by God and could not do all that we do with out Him.

Life in the Burgess Home

Life in the Burgess home is COLD!
We miss going outside everyday in the beautiful Florida weather! So we try to hit up all of the inside play places we can. This is one of our favorite, it is in the Oak Park Mall. It is pretty much a ton of cars, so you can imagine Alexander would love it.

I love this picture of him driving, he looks like he is on a mission.
Life in the Burgess home is Emotional!
We go from this extreme! VERY happy with his sucker, this is the happiness that makes my life wonderful!

To this extreme!
To tell you the truth I cannot even remember what this was all about. Who knows, it could have been that his drink was in the wrong sippie cup, or that he thought it was going to be juice and it was milk. Lord help me through days like this. He looks so pitiful, but when he is in the heat of a melt down like this pity is not what I feel, in fact I think I feel about like he is.

First Day of Work and The Big 3 - 0

One of Alexander's favorite snacks is "car" gummies. I snapped this pic a little late but you can see he grouped the colors together. I thought that was pretty cool.

Alexander was very excited about going to school. I started work on Tuesday so he came with me. He has a great teacher named Mrs. Tarren and he seems to like her. He did have a little run in on his first day. He was playing and another little boy scratched the slide of his face with a toy. Poor baby lost it. He screamed! I felt so bad for him, I think it hurt his feelings more than anything.

We went out for Jeremy's 30th birthday last night. We went with our neighbors Sarah and Darren. We decided to save some money on a sitter and let Alexander stay at their house then we could just split the cost. So Alexander had his first big boy sleep over at Sam's house. The sitter said he did really good.
How sweet is he all camped out on the floor.

We went to a concert to see John Michael Montgomery, Chris Young and Craig Morgan. It was a BLAST!
He were are waiting in line outside in the cold! Why can't men take a serious picture?
Here are all three performers on stage together.

Big Boy Bed Update

I love this little outfit from Mia at Christmas.
Alexander is doing so well in his big boy bed. He is sleeping 11 to 12 hours at night in it and napping for 2 hours in the afternoon. He has not given is any trouble. It is kinda funny but in the morning and after nap when he wakes up but he does not get out of bed. He calls me into his room and gets up once I am in there. We did have one day that he did not want to go down for a nap. We had been gone all day and pushed him way past his nap time, so he was really past tried. I laid him down and he kicked the wall and talked for a little while. Then we heard the door knob rattle, then we saw the light come on, then off, then on. He even went far enough to turn off his sound machine. Jeremy and I were both laughing so hard. We finally just let him get up and play.
We made it to church this morning and I thought I would try out the timer on the camera.

Big Boy Bed

Finally we made the move to a big boy bed. Thanks Mia and Papi! We took back Alexander's power wheels, he was not really good at steering it and it did not go very good in the back yard. Plus Alexander REALLY wanted a car bed. Isn't it cool! When we first set it up all he wanted to do was jump on it.
We got him some Disney Cars bedding for it. He loves Mater!

Sleeping in his new bed. He was a little afraid to sleep in it to start with but I laid down with him for a little while and he had no trouble. He slept the whole night on it.We woke up this morning to about 2 inches of snow, we did not know we were going to get any. It is so beautiful to see everything covered in white. It has been VERY cold here the last couple of days in the negative in the mornings and highs in the teen. Brrrr!

You are looking at the newest employee of The Goddard School. It is a preschool at the end of our street, like 1/4 mile away. I will not be working much, just a couple of hours in the afternoons. They are going to let Alexander come with me for free. I think he is going to really love it. I should start on Tuesday.

My boy!

That's my Oreo boy! Sorry I had to share this picture!

Alexander's hard day at work on the farm (kitchen).

Alexander is my truck loving boy! I love to watch him play with them. He is so serious with them, it is the most important thing to him.

Tonight I was rocking Alexander and singing to him. I was singing "Jesus Loved Me" and he looks at me and said "no mom, stars". He loves "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Itisy Bitsy Spider". I love all of his new big boy things!

2 Year Wellness Check-up

Alexander had his first well check here in Kansas. I was really nervous about the Doctor I was not sure if she would be good or not. But thank God she was wonderful and he loved her. She said Alexander is right on target for development.

Head Circumference: 20 inches 90th percentile

Weight: 31 pounds 15 ounces 85th percentile

Height: 37 inches 97th percentile

Grandma sent Alexander his birthday present. When it arrived he was down for a nap so I opened the box and set the gift in the gift bag at the bottom of the stairs. When Alexander woke from his nap I got him out of his bed and went into my room. I started to hear some loud rustling and realized he had found his gift. His full head was in the bag before I got down to him.

He was very excited about his Thomas book.

He loves his O'tootles ears but he is not really happy about wearing them. I snapped this picture very quick!

We moved Alexander up to the big table. His high chair changes heights so it fit right up to the table, it works well and he loves it! He also loves his "bob bob" place mat.

This man is my Hero! He is such an amazing husband and father! I am so blessed that he is mine! He has had a test everyday this week and has 2 more this week. He has been studying like crazy. He has made a 100% and a 96% on the 2 hardest tests he will take. God blessed him with an amazing memory. Please keep him in your prayers as he finishes out this week. Next week he starts a 2 month schedule of being on the air traffic controller floor which will be a nice break.

Alexander is Two

Alexander really had a birthday weekend. Yesterday we had Florida winter weather, it was 65 and beautiful! So I found this park around from our house and took Alexander to play.......isn't it cool shaped like a castle.

Alexander's favorite thing is to slide, he must have went down it 50 times.

We came home and Alexander took a nap, then right back outside. Hey when it is this beautiful you gotta get out in it. In fact you will notice Alexander has on short sleeves. This is the neighbor kid Sam, he is 5 and Alexander LOVES him!

See...

I love this....Alexander lines everything up now.

Birthday Morning!
Oh and so much for 65 degrees, it is 22!

Having some yummy Amish Friendship Bread! (or Muffin as Alexander calls it)

Our breakfast on Alexander's birthday plate.

For His birthday we went to Monkey Business...
This place was awesome! It is full of jungle gyms and jump houses!
Here is Jeremy and Alexander coming down the fastest slide ever!

Here is me and Alexander coming down the same slide. I gave Jeremy time to compose before I took his picture. But see how much Alexander loved it, he kept saying again, again!
Weeeeee

I love this one, for some reason only on this slide he would cover his eyes. That did not stop him from going down it 15 times!

Our Neighbors, Sarah (who I went to high school with) and her to kids, Sam and Courtney came with us. They got Alexander a book and truck, which he loved. Thanks!

After playing at monkey business we went to the mall food count and had pizza and cupcakes. Alexander actually blew out his candle on his cake, it was priceless!
What a great 2nd Birthday! We missed all of our Family and Friends in Florida, wish you could have been here! We love you!
