A week for "ONE"

It is so hard to believe a year has come and gone and my baby is a week from being a year old. I can still remember the way it felt to feel him move in the womb. What an amazing feeling to know you are going to be a mom.

Then it happens, your WHOLE world changes and this little 8lb baby is here. I loved hearing Alexander cry for the first time, I knew he was fine. We were a little worry for a little while, but God gave me my little miracle baby boy!
Watching him grow and learn new things everyday was so amazing. The greatest of these was him recognizing me, it really is wonderful to be someone so special's favorite person!
Becoming mobile was such a great milestone, Alexander's personality really began to show. He could then go to all the things that interested him. Having only nieces I really did not know what to except a boy to like and it was totally different but in a great way!
Everyday my little man continues to grow and learn new things. Just the other day Jeremy said he could not wait for Alexander to start talking. With as fast as this last year has gone he will be talking in no time. Motherhood is truly God's greatest gift and I am so glad he choose me to give Alexander to.

After Christmas Fun

Celebration, Florida

We went to Celebration for some snow, Florida snow that is(bubbles). Alexander really enjoyed all the snow as you can see!

Then on to the train ride around Main Street. He looked out the window at all the Christmas lights the whole time.

We even made it to Sea World to check The Polar Express. Alexander played on the ice wall in the "North Pole."

Alexander's first Christmas Day

Christmas Morning at Mia and Papi's.

Alexander had a wonderful Christmas morning, Mia and Papi got him a bulldozer that he loved to push and Evie loved to ride. So Alexander pushed her around on it all morning. He also got a really cool Thomas the Train Ball pit, he had never been in a ball pit. It was a blast watching him throw the balls out and fall into all the balls!
We had a wonderful traditional lunch at Mia and Papi's, it was so good. Especially the "Real Mayo" deviled eggs made just for me! Here is Alexander and Mia making some cookies for dessert...it looks like Alexander tried some before his dinner! See the green sprinkle on his "I did not eat anything" face!
The poor pups stayed outside for most of the morning, but it was for their own good! I am sure they would have been ran over or hit with a ball in all the mess.

Santa came to the Burgess'

Look what Santa brought Alexander!
It's a Radio Flyer Retro Rocket and he loves it! We had Christmas at the Burgess home in Jacksonville on December 20th, Santa was amazing to know to drop Alexander's presents early!

Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's.

We went to church on the morning of the 23rd and on to Grandma and Grandpa's for some "yummy" dinner and presents! Alexander got a Thomas the Train ride on/push behind train that was the hit of Christmas! Caedence and Alexander played on it all night. After presents we rode around the neighborhood to see the luminaries and Christmas light.

Christmas Eve at Pop and Granny's.

We had some great southern home cooking at Pop and Granny's on the 24th. Alexander loved the green beans and got to try chicken and dumplings for the first time. Alexander loved his Elmo Giggle and Go Garage from Pop and Granny! In the picture below Grandma asked Alexander where his tongue was......there it is!

Gaylord Ice

Alexander's Aunt Buff's raves about Gaylord Palm's Ice and wanted to take Alexander and I so we went!

It is so amazing! You would not believe the beauty that ice can be! It is a very cold 9 degrees and by the end of it he was getting a little fussy. But once we got out of the cold he was fine.
We even went down the ice slide they had. When I got to the top of the ice slide with him, the lady told me I could not go down with him. So after thinking about it a little I decided to send him down alone, of course Aunt Buff was there to catch him. It was a funny site to watch him go down alone.

Family Day

Last weekend was Family Day at Jeremy's base. We had so much fun.

Alexander was amazed to get in the back of the Air Force Hummer. You can tell by the look on his face he loved being in it.
We went for a ride on the Santa Express Train to the North Pole. There was some Florida snow(Shredded paper) on the ground of Santa's work shop. Alexander did not really care for it.
He visited with Santa and Mrs. Clause and got a special toy from him.
Then back to the base to see the HUGE C-130.

11 months

It is so hard for me to believe Alexander is 11 months old. He is growing so fast and learning new things everyday. Here are a few of my favorite things he does.
~If you ask "Where is your tongue?" he will stick it right out.
~Points to his fish when you ask him to.
~Points at his picture when you ask "Where's Alexander?"
~Loves to pull his socks off. As soon as he gets in his car seat off comes the shoes and socks.
~Imitates noises and faces, like the face above. He got that one from Aunt Kristy at Thanksgiving.
~Loves to play with trucks, the wheels are still his favorite part.
~Throws the ball for Libby.
~Loves to dance, when the music comes on his butt starts moving.
~Taking steps, he is getting more daring walking from one piece of furniture to another.
~Feeds the dogs food he does not like. The other day he was eating carrots and chicken he fed all the carrots
to the dogs and kept the chicken for himself. The dogs are enjoying this new interest a lot.
~He is pretty much off of baby food and he is loving it.
~We have started in the last couple of days to giving him some milk and he loves it. I am still nursing him
about 4 times a day.
~He is totally out of 6-9 months, in some 12-18 months clothing, and is still in size 4 diapers.
~He has 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom.

These are all our Christmas photos...

Picking out the perfect tree

Here we are at the tree farm picking out our tree.

We let Alexander put up his "Baby's first Christmas" ornament. He loved it because it has wheels. He really loved the Christmas lights on the tree. We decorated the tree while he slept and when he woke he was awed at the sight of the it.
Then on to family photos with the help of Aunt Missy. Here are a few of my favorites. As you can see Alexander loved Dixie and Libby being in the pictures.
Alexander was so tried after the long day...
